Annual Cycle Ride and Walk

For many years the Staffordshire Historic Churches Trust has participated in the annual Cycle Ride and Walk organised by Historic Churches Trusts throughout England.

The Annual Cycle Ride and Walk takes place on the second Saturday in September each year. On that day many churches in Staffordshire are open to visitors. Cyclists and pedestrians taking part are sponsored for their efforts, as are others registering visits to individual churches. The riders and walkers journey to as many open churches as possible and, in addition to benefiting from the pleasures of visiting these wonderful buildings, take part in a healthy activity raising money for their nominated churches and the Trust. We hope as many as possible will participate. 

 The 2008 Cycle Ride and Walk will take place on 13 September 2008. If you would like to take part, or require further information, please contact Mrs. V Patchett, 6 Drayton Lane, Drayton Bassett, Tamworth, Staffordshire, B78 3TZ (telephone: 01827 284812).

The list of the churches which were open for the September 2007 event can be seen by clicking here.  The churches will be delighted to receive a visit from you. Even if you are not taking part in the Cycle Ride and Walk the day presents a wonderful opportunity to visit that building that you have always wished to see inside.

If you are not involved, but are travelling on 13 September 2008, you may encounter those who are riding or walking. Kindly give them a wide berth and, if appropriate, wish them well on their way.
