The SHCT is very grateful to those who take part in the Annual Cycle Ride and Walk, whether they cycle or walk.
In 2004 we were fortunate that many people of all ages and interests took part. Some were keen church members, others wanted to take advantage of the opportunities the day offers to visit local
churches and others participated just for the fun of it. The monies raised in 2003 totaled £19,800. Proceeds are still coming in from the 2005 Cycle Ride and Walk.
One of those taking part, a regular, Mr. Ronnie Goy, celebrated his 86th birthday shortly after the ride. Yet he still managed to cover over 41 miles and visit 19 local churches. A
photograph commemorating Mr. Goy's efforts appears below. There is no excuse for Mr. Goy's juniors!!
All members of the Sunday School at Ellenhall (including the vicar) took part in the 2004 ride. We are not sure whether, during their efforts, they encountered Craig, from the Red Lion at
Newborough, who covered 42 miles dressed as a women on his bike. He raised £70.70 doing so.
Why not join the fun this year?
